Horseshoe Bend

Somehow every photo I took of Horseshoe Bend looks like a face. The Colorado River runs through Glen Canyon. Not too far downstream is the start of the Grand Canyon.

The footprints are on Navajo land and are just out in the open. You can walk right up and stand on them if you wanted to.

It's not clear what exact species produced the prints but it's thought to be some sort of two legged carnivore.

Water pours out of the Glen Canyon dam. The amount of water coming through the pipes was immense.

The dam itself. Like Lake Mead the water level is very low.

Antelope Canyon

The canyon is only accessible via tour and they certainly pack a lot in. It's an awesome site though so worth the crowds.

The canyon walls have been scoured by water.

The canyon is what's called a slot canyon where water carves a very narrow channel through the rock.

The exit from the canyon.

I passed through Page in 2015 and completed missed two famous sites. Horseshoe Bend and Anetople Canyon are both only a few miles outside of the town.

We also saw some dinosaur footprints preserved in rock on our drive to Page.
